A partner or friend will clock that you have a particular way of pursuing what you want with them, courtship, conflict, collaboration, and that the way is oddly formal even when the content is casual. You're not withholding. You're working from a private set of rules about how effort should be structured, and if someone learns those rules they usually find they can trust you more, not less, because you're consistent in a way that reads as care.

The risk is that the method can look like distance to someone who wants spontaneity. You're not cold, you're patterned. Explaining the pattern out loud once, instead of assuming it's obvious, saves a lot of misreadings later.

Once or twice a year, actually look at the system you've built and ask if it still serves the goal or just feels familiar. That's the only maintenance it needs.
