♆ □ ⚹Neptune Square Vertex
The people who show up right on cue in your life rarely turn out to be exactly who you thought they were when the door opened. You keep signing up for that anyway.

What This Aspect Means
The Vertex marks the door in your chart that opens without your permission, the point where someone or something arrives and rearranges you. Neptune stands in tension with that door, which means what comes through it is never quite in focus. You don't get clean fated meetings. You get meetings soaked in fog, wrapped in a feeling of destiny that is at least partly your own projection.
This aspect keeps handing you encounters that feel enormous and turn out to be hard to describe accurately even to yourself later. A person arrives and you know, instantly, that something is happening. What you can't always tell, in the moment, is whether that something is real contact or a very convincing dream you're having with your eyes open. The square makes this friction structural rather than occasional. Life keeps forcing you to build discernment out of exactly the material that resists being pinned down.
What this asks of you, over and over, is to stop needing the fated thing to be pure in order to be meaningful. Some doors open onto genuine transformation. Some open onto a mirror with good lighting. You are required to learn the difference without losing your capacity for wonder in the process, which is a harder discipline than it sounds.
How It Plays Out in Relationships
With partners and close friends, this shows up as the relationship you can't quite explain to outsiders. It started with a feeling of inevitability, and that feeling was real, but so was the fog you were standing in when it started. You tend to meet significant people during periods of dissolution in your own life: heartbreak, illness, spiritual confusion, a stretch where your usual boundaries were already down. That timing isn't coincidence, but it does mean you've idealized people who arrived at your most porous moments and then been disoriented when they turned out to be ordinary.
Family and mentors carry this too. Someone enters claiming to see you clearly, or you decide they do, and the relationship becomes a place where you sort out what was truth and what was longing dressed up as recognition. The square guarantees this sorting is never smooth. It comes with a crisis attached, a moment where the fated feeling and the actual person stop matching and you have to choose which one you're going to keep believing in.
Spun Gold
You sense significance before you have evidence for it, and that instinct is more reliable than you give it credit for. Once you stop demanding that every fated meeting be free of illusion before you'll trust it, you get access to something rarer: the ability to meet people in the fog and still find your footing, taking what's real from the encounter without needing the whole thing to have been a dream come true.
Advice for the Road
When a meeting feels fated, let the feeling be information and not instruction. Give it time to show you what it actually is before you rearrange your life around it. Write down, early, what you think is happening, so you have something to check your later story against. And when the fog clears on an old encounter and you see it was partly a projection, don't discard the meaning entirely. Something real usually walked through that door too. Your job is separating it from the mist, not doubting that the door opened at all.
