Opposition

An opposition stretches two planets across the full diameter of the chart, six signs apart, facing each other like two people at opposite ends of a table. Each sees the world from the far side, and each holds exactly what the other is missing. The classic pattern is projection: you identify with one planet and meet the other through partners, rivals, and circumstances that seem to keep embodying it for you. The growth of an opposition is integration, learning that both ends of the axis are yours. Until then it tends to play out as a tug of war, often in relationships. Once owned, it becomes the chart's capacity for genuine perspective: the rare ability to see both sides because you live on both sides.
