Your Blind Spots

You mistake motion for intimacy. You'll talk someone's ear off about consciousness or politics or the next place you're going and call that closeness, when really you've just kept things comfortably abstract. What You Need (Even If You'd Never Admit It)

You need friends, plural, who take your weirdness as a given rather than a performance, people in front of whom you don't have to be interesting to be welcome. You need room to roam, actual travel or the equivalent, new philosophies to test drive, because staying put without a horizon in view makes you brittle. But you also need at least one or two people who get the version of you that isn't shining for anyone, who you let see the idea before it's polished into a bit.

Movement restores you. So does being witnessed without having to earn it.

Advice for the Road

Pick one idea, one cause, one person, and stay past the point where it stops being new. You already have the vision, what you're missing is the discipline of finding out what happens when you don't leave. Let someone see you thinking out loud badly, not just the finished performance, and notice how much closer that actually gets you to what you say you want.
