Pisces Sun, Scorpio Moon, Cancer Rising
You'll bring soup, ask the question nobody else dares, and disappear into your own head before dessert. Most people never notice the last part. That's the point.
What Makes You Tick
Underneath the casseroles and the good listening, you are organizing your whole life around one question: how far can I feel this before it takes me apart. Not a little sad, not mildly moved. All the way down. Scorpio wants intensity or nothing, and Pisces wants to dissolve into whatever it finds there, so the two of them together are not looking for comfort. They're looking for the experience so total it erases the line between you and it, at least for a minute.
This is why small talk exhausts you faster than grief does. Grief, at least, is real weather. You'd rather sit in the wreckage of something true than make polite conversation at the surface of something fake. You test situations and people, quietly, the way Scorpio always does, waiting to see if they can hold weight. Most can't. The ones who can become the only ones who matter.
What you're really after is the underworld trip that ends in daylight. Go down, get changed by it, come back still yourself. That's the whole project. Half your life is spent proving to yourself you can survive your own depths.
The You Everyone Meets
People meet the shell before they meet you, and the shell is warm. You remember what someone said three months ago, you show up with exactly the right thing, you make people feel held before they've asked to be. Cancer runs the front desk here, and it runs it well. Strangers relax around you faster than they expect to.
What they don't clock right away is that the softness is armor, not an open door. You're reading them the entire time, quietly, the way a crab reads the tide. By the time someone realizes you've been testing them since minute one, they've usually already passed, or they never will and won't be told why.
Your Blind Spots
You use retreat as if it were rest, and it isn't always. The crab pulls back into its shell, the fish slips into the current, and either way you're gone before anyone notices you left. This looks like self-care. Sometimes it's escape wearing self-care's coat, and you know the difference even when you don't want to admit it.
You also confuse merging with love. When it's real, you want to disappear into someone, feel what they feel, lose the edges. That can look like devotion and feel like transcendence, but it can also mean you've stopped noticing where you end and they begin, and you won't see the cost until you're trying to find yourself again afterward. And because Cancer keeps the door looking open while Scorpio keeps the real gate locked, people often think they have your trust long before they've earned it, and are baffled when they discover otherwise.
What You Need (Even If You'd Never Admit It)
You need water, literally and otherwise. A bath, a lake, a long swim, something that lets your nervous system remember it's allowed to soften without an audience. You need one or two people who have already passed the test, so you can stop administering it, and a private place, physical or emotional, where the intensity can run without anyone watching you have it.
You need permission to withdraw honestly instead of disappearing quietly. A stated need for solitude lands very differently than a silent exit, even though the destination looks the same from outside.
Advice for the Road
Build the shell, you need it, but stop treating it as a hiding place. Let someone see you mid-feeling once in a while instead of only after you've already made peace with it alone. And before you dissolve into the next person or project that promises total feeling, ask whether you're being moved or erased. One of those you can come back from. The other one you can't, and you already know which is which.
