You come across as grounded and pleasurable to be around, someone who clearly enjoys being alive, and then you turn out to be sharp, funny, and a little theatrical when the mood strikes. People remember you as warmer and more solid than you sometimes feel on the inside, where things are moving much faster than your exterior lets on.

Your Blind Spots

You want credit for your mind and your heart in the same breath, and when you only get credit for one, you sulk more than you'd admit. You need at least one person who finds you fascinating on a slow day, not just when you're performing. Someone who will sit with you in comfortable silence and still think you're the most interesting person in the room. You also need real, unhurried pleasure: good food, good sheets, an afternoon with nowhere to be. Your nervous system runs hot and your body is one of the only things that can talk it down.

You need permission to stop gathering material and just be witnessed as you are, mid-thought, unfinished, unclever. That's harder for you to ask for than almost anything else, which is exactly why it matters.
