Gemini
Gemini Gemini is ruled by Mercury, and to some extent it exemplifies that planet's function in the zodiac. Mercury seeks to experience the world. Gemini represents the soul's interaction with the other—with the objective world—and its natural state is one of fascination. Gemini is the first Air sign and also the first Mutable sign. Gemini is at home in the world of ideas and thrills and delights in the interchange of thoughts. Gemini excels at communication and puts it to good use. Gemini is chatty because it wants to know what you are thinking. The Twins have always had someone nearby to talk to. The world as they experience it isn't enough. Two eyes and ears are not enough to see the whole world. Only by engaging with others, by listening to them and understanding their frame of reference can their bottomless curiosity be momentarily sated. But it will probably never be enough. Gemini has a reputation for getting quickly bored and for flitting between subjects and topics at great speed. It is a sign known for its intelligence but not necessarily its depth or staying power. This isn't to say that Gemini doesn't have energy; it is filled with it, at times overflowing. Gemini may have trouble sleeping, they may have issues with their overactive nervous system at times, but all as a result of being the eyes and ears of God, forever open and truly wanting to know, for its own sake, for the sake of witnessing the wonder of existence.
Myth The twins refer most often to Castor and Pollux, to the split between mortal and immortal life they alternate between. Twins conjure the concept of duality itself and the riddle hidden behind each of our perceptions—what exactly are these thoughts which enter our minds and accompany the stream of consciousness? From amongst the at times competing choruses of voices which seek to suggest which direction to bend my attention next, which is Me? Which is You? Which is good? Which evil? Which Cain? Which Abel?
This riddle is among the trickiest to solve in all existence, for all of us, but even more so for the Gemini.
HAND OF FATE: They have within them the spirit of Hermes Trismegistus, the cleverest being in creation, though discerning which insights to pursue and which insights lead us into the chaotic bramble of trickery and self-deception — may take them a lifetime to resolve.
