Aries

Aries: The first sign. The start of the Path.

How to get things going. Aries represents the birth of something from nothing. If at times Aries can be a bit self-centered, this is only natural for them. They are after all God's chosen people, or at least they can't seem to shake the feeling that they are. Aries is the sign of the Ram. Without overthinking it, this explains their strategy to a T — push. Push hard. Are there other ways of achieving their goals that might be less disruptive to those around them? Probably, but Aries, deep down, doesn’t really care. Aries likes to fight. Aries at some level was born for it.

We all have some Aries in us. It is the raw instinctual side of our nature, the uncivilized Will. Aries is a Cardinal Sign, the first Cardinal Sign, which means it is at home initiating. Aries is a natural leader. Aries has the courage to risk and the belief in its own ideas. Aries does not always value what it has, or what perhaps other people have as much as they might. Aries values the journey, the battle, the quest.

Wherever Aries is in your chart is an area you will naturally feel like taking the initiative. Aries Suns may struggle with external authority.

Aries Myth: Aries is old, as old perhaps as time itself. Although we get the Aries Ram from the Greeks, where it once proudly wore the Golden Fleece of Legend before it was sacrificed, in even more ancient Egypt, the ram-headed god Amon-Ra—it was it's inspiration. It is hard not to see parallels between this mysterious being known as "the hidden one," and another old pagan god known as "the bornless one." In those cases the story that holds them together rings true — Aries represents that invisible force in the world which just seems to BE. It is the answer to the question—"Why is there something rather than nothing?" Because. It is the Be and the Cause of being in one.

Aries represents innate erupting power. This power need not be purely physical but can extend to intellectual pursuits, to artistry and visionary goals.

In any case Aries people, Aries touched areas of life, have about them the sense of inevitability, of being done for the sake of doing them.

Aries is ruled by Mars, which makes complete and total sense and doesn't need to be really expanded on or explained at all. Of course it is!
