Capricorn
Capricorn The Cardinal Earth sign Capricorn carries the weight of the world on its shoulders and wouldn't have it any other way. Souls who have a lot of Capricorn energy in their charts seem to almost prefer the hard way in life as if the lesson they are learning with this incarnation is its own point. Capricorn works hard. Capricorn is steady. Capricorn never gives up, even when it should. Saturn is the ruling planet of Capricorn, and its penchant for structure and limitation shines through here with the zeal of a fanatic. In order to maximize its work rate, Capricorn needs a worthy goal. Fame and fortune, the kinds of rewards many of us dream of, are almost mere side effects to Capricorn's instinct to achieve. Where an Aries might climb a mountain because it is there, a Capricorn might do so because it is hard.
They come into this life possessing already that deep, hard-won wisdom about how few of the truly good things in life come free. Hard work, routine, expression of effort, discipline—these are the necessary ingredients for mastery of any art, though a true masterpiece requires a bit of pure inspiration.
Stopping to smell the roses, knowing when to quit, making sure the critical faculties of the mind and spirit do not push the gentle parts of the soul into hiding, giving space and time for listening to the more subtle clues the universe has in store—these are things Capricorn must take care of to allow themselves to achieve the fully integrated harmony of soul success they dream of.
Myth Capricorn is associated with Saturn, which is itself associated with Satan himself. In the old days, apparently, Saturn was blamed for any affliction a person might run into, and this tendency of mankind to always need someone or something to blame for our fate often drags that blame to Satan's cloven feet, or the feet of whatever divine entity we can summon to shoulder the weight of misfortune. But this sense must be found ultimately within ourselves. Constant work and struggle can mask the escape that such ordeals might contain. Without stopping to look at what we have right now, we can continue to dream of our better days yet to come. This mode of living can manifest as workaholism, and while the external trappings of success often accompany the lives of such individuals, they may find themselves imprisoned within the world they have built if they haven't taken the time to accept their own sacrifice.
Hand of Fate: The sea goat can overcome any obstacle, and so to it then falls the dilemma of deciding to whom the sacrifice is offered and why.
