You need actual sensory rest, not just downtime scheduled between projects. A body that's fed well, warm, unhurried, tends to loosen the mind's grip on itself in a way no amount of analysis will. You also need someone who takes your ideas seriously enough to poke holes in them without making you feel foolish for having them, since your own inner critic already does that job too well.

Friends who like you weird, specifically, matter more than you let on. Not admirers of the vision, just people who'll sit with you while you eat something good and not ask you to perform insight. That's where you actually recharge, whatever your calendar claims.
