Pluto
Pluto
Peak experiences—peaking over the edges of ourselves. Why it seems like Pluto is transformational, it is because it is unlocking the "next level" for us. If we can shepherd these experiences perhaps they will be less painful, but at some level the nature of them is inclined towards chaos, from the perspective of the form which is being broken by the arrival of the new.
This is why Pluto is known as the planet of rebirth.
Pluto is one of our most historical planets as well and it is worth examining its recent movement into Aquarius.
Plutonic experiences are often described as "transformational," and this is true. We all know life is change, that things are changing constantly. The type of change which we want allows us to gradually shift our frame of reference, the way the seasons gradually change from one into the other. A transformational shift however is a sudden change. It is the kind of change which is not gradual at all and as a result it is often intensely uncomfortable. Often it involves the death or destruction of our previous frame of reference, and is intensely painful to the psychological component responsible for preserving that frame—our ego. Ask anyone in the midst of a plutonic shift how they are feeling and they will tell you that life is more painful than they ever thought imaginable. Ask them about it when it's done and they have integrated the experience though, and they will tell you it was the most important time of their entire lives.
Transformation overrides control. Control is about power. This why Pluto is often associated with Power because power is often hidden, since it is impolite. Pluto forces the struggle for power to the surface. Pluto is rude.
